| | | La Hacienda - The Main House & Grounds. Hacienda Dos Olivos is a country house of special charm. A smaller example of an estate house, it offers a blend of Moorish and Andalusian styles. Named "Two Olives" it celebrates the only two olive trees removed in its building from the 35 acres of organic olive grove which we farm.
We offer a self catering-cottage for four on the estate. It has two bedrooms, lounge/dining room with a colour T.V. and a fully equipped kitchen.
The estate reflects the very special interest of its owner, Johanna Beattie Batista, a renowned classical dressage rider, and her love of the Spanish horse. Behind the house is an elegant stable-block with wonderful horses. These are trained daily in the outdoor arenas, or are ridden among the olive trees - they are a magical sight. We have books and games, videos, satellite TV. and a piano, dogs, cats, and the horses, all of which you are also very welcome to enjoy.
Cuisine. The food, traditionally prepared by our Spanish cook with local produce and regional flavours, is served with good wines. Our organic olives are harvested in September, and are served at the table year round. Breakfast reflects the Spanish sweet tooth, and combines fruits and juices, breads, sweet biscuits and cakes. Lunch consists of cold meats, salamis, breads, cheeses and salads, and/or a traditionally cooked dish. Tapas (snacks) of sustaining nibbles may be served beforehand, as meals come a little later here in Spain. Meals can be arranged at breakfast. We have a selection of drinks at our bar table to which guests help themselves and fill in the bar book.
