| | | | | Durante toda su historia, Chulilla ha estado ligada al río Turia, de ahí que se conozca su poblamiento prácticamente continuado desde la Edad del Bronce.
Antigua cabeza de la Baronía de su nombre, está situada bajo la protección de su castillo, que la corona. Aparece orientada a levante y mediodía, distribuyéndose sus calles en sucesivas terrazas, siguiendo los desniveles del terreno. De trazado irregular y casi tortuoso recuerda su urbanismo el origen medieval. La vivienda se ve influida por la conservación de las cosechas, para su secado y maduración se utiliza la última planta (cambra) con grandes ventanales para la ventilación.
Geología y paisaje.
La mayor parte del término se extiende sobre terreno cretácico. En esta meseta caliza, la erosión del río Turia ha creado una hoz y el Salto de Chulilla, de 160 metros de profundidad y 10 metros de anchura. Cuando pasaba la madera desde Moya y los Montes de Castilla hasta la ciudad de Valencia, los maderos se cruzaban en este punto, siendo necesario que algunos hombres se descolgaran con cuerdas para eliminar la barrera. Por lo arriesgado de esta operación existía en la cumbre una ermita, ante la cual oraban. En este lugar sugirió Cavanilles la realización de un pantano, haciéndose un proyecto, no llevado a término, para 10 millones de m 3.
Vegetación y fauna.
Vegetación: pinares (carrasco) y monte bajo mediterráneo.
Fauna: Conejos, liebres y perdices.
"Antiguamente existía al sur de la localidad, en la margen derecha del río un bosque de pinos, enebros, jaras y romero, refugio de lobos, corzos y cabras montesas".

Rock climbers have in Chulilla a real paradise to practise their favourite sport. There are more than 36 crag sectors spreaded out throughout Chulilla territory. You will find all kind of routes, from the easiest for non-initiated climbers to the highest difficulty for experts.

The natural patrimony of Chulilla is extraordinary. You will find a wide range of different landscapes, which range from the old olive trees fields to the extensive forests of pines or the abrupt canyons and crags that the river forms. Compulsory visits are the Turia Canyon and the Blue Lake.

Randonnée.
Chulilla a un grand réseau de sentiers dans des endroits cachés et solitaires qui vous surprendront. Nous avons des cartes de randonnées et aussi un service de guide si vous le souhaitez.
Mountain Bike.
Il y a des routes pour tout niveau et de plusieurs distance, entre les montagnes et les champs cultivés dans un environnement typiquement Mediterranéen. Nous vous proposons aussi de la documentation ainsi qu´un guide pour vous accompagner.
Escalade.
Chulilla est une des principales Écoles d´Escalade Sportive en Espagne. Il y a une grande variété de secteurs, avec des voies pour les débutants et pour les escaladeurs confirmés. Les secteurs se trouvent à 200 mètres des appartements.
Autre activité que vous pouvez faire, aussi intéressante que les autres, la dégustation de la gastronomie locale. Chulilla dispose de nombreux restaurants où vous pourrez gouter les plats typiques comme la olla de carne, le rin-ran, la olla de berzas, etc.

Natur erleben, Sport treiben:
- Wandern auf über 50 km langen Wanderwegen, die an Flüssen vorbei sowie durch Berge und bewirtschaftete Felder führen.
- Klettern. Chulilla verfügt über eine der besten Klettersportschulen in Spanien, mit 350 Wegen für alle Niveaus. Darüber hinaus ermöglicht das Klima, den Sport das ganze Jahr über zu betreiben, insbesondere im Winter und im Frühling.
- Mountainbiking. Die Liebhaber des Mountainbikesports können sich ebenfalls an fantastischen Strecken für jedwedes Niveau erfreuen.
- Kajakfahren in den ruhigen Gewässern des Stausees von Loriguilla.
- Spazierengehen durch die steilen, engen Gassen von Chulilla. Dabei die schönsten Ecken besuchen und die wunderbare Aussicht an den entsprechenden Plattformen genießen.
- Natürlich gilt es auch, das den Ort krönende Schloss mit den archäologischen Überresten wie die Felsmalereien von Vallfiguera, zu entdecken.

Sehenswürdigkeiten
Chulilla bietet seinen Besuchern und Naturliebhabern ein reichhaltiges Angebot. Der Ort ist eine ideale Enklave, um Aktivitäten wie Klettern, Wandern, Mountainbiking, Jagen oder Angeln durchzuführen.
Empfehlenswert ist der Besuch von folgenden Orten:
- Charco Azul. Naturwasserbecken, das vom Fluss Turia auf seinem Weg durch Chulilla geformt wird. Es befindet sich am Anfang des Cañón del Turia und im Gemeindenaturgebiet. Dabei handelt es sich um einen leichten, 30-minütigen Fußrundweg, der am Dorfplatz beginnt und auch dort wieder endet.
- Cañón del Turia. Von großem landschaftlichen Interesse, da der Fluss eindrucksvolle Schluchten mit bis zu 60 Meter vollständig senkrechten Wänden bildet. Der entsprechende - Weg beginnt im Ort und endet am Stausee von Loriguilla.
- Felsmalereien. Diese befinden sich in der Schlucht von Falfiguera und man gelangt zu ihnen über einen örtlichen, gekennzeichneten Weg, von dem aus man gleichzeitig wunderbare Blicke auf Chulilla erhält.
- Heilbad von Chulilla. Dieses kann genutzt werden, ohne dort auch nächtigen zu müssen. Es verfügt über ein Thermalbad, das ganz besonders in der Sommersaison zu empfehlen ist.
- Burg von Chulilla. Mit Festungsmauer islamischer Herkunft, auf der hoch gelegenen Seite des Ortes. Über das historische Interesse hinaus kann der Besucher die wunderbare Aussicht auf das Turia-Tal sowie den Cañón del Turia genießen.
- Wanderweg PR 77 und 76. Kleiner Wanderweg, der die Ortschaften Gestalgar und Sot de Chera verbindet.
- Angel- und Jagdgebiet. Für Liebhaber des Angelns und der Jagd gibt es in Chulilla ein Forellenareal sowie ein Jagdgebiet, in dem sich unter anderem Rebhühner und Hasen aufhalten.
