The simple courtesy of the « Maragatos », the beauty of their landscapes and their intriguing past, has encouraged the construction of this ideal place for a romantic getaway or simply free time in a setting which represents an excellent offer of rural tourism.
Come enjoy the “Maragatería”! Come enjoy León!
In 2003, with an integral incorporation of simple materials, necessarily biological and geological because of its centuries of antiquity (ashlars, tiles, bricks, wood and forge beams, doors, windows and gates…), we have resurrected the remnants of an old rustic “Maragata” construction, achieving nine en-suite rooms (5 double rooms, 2 family rooms and 2 suites), in two distinctive buildings (separated by a cosy central courtyard), overlooking Teleno’s mountains (2,190 m.).
Luyego’s altitude (1,100 m.) places Camino Inn closer to the stars and, accordingly, each room bears the name of a different constellation. The antique furniture is a part of the decoration and the comfortable beds are easy for sleeping. The same décor enters through warm spaces like the Café, the Summer Terrace, that, with a fair weather, serves as open-air lunch room with its two large garden areas, the corridor, the fireplace for the winter in the sitting-room and boardroom, in the lunch rooms - one large room for 45 diners and other private rooms - where you can taste the seasonal menu or the set menus, especially appropriate for business meals and family celebrations, including weddings or any other ceremonies at the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios de Luyego, with live classical music, floral arrangements and all of the extra touches.
A restaurant with a comfortable atmosphere and excellent quality cooking where the best traditions from the good old days are preserved, so that the result is always homemade cooking done with pleasure.
Camino offers a generously-made menu and which changes with the seasons of the year, preserving the loyalty to the products’ quality and their season.
The Potatoes Camino will easily remain in the diner’s memory, as it is the most complete creation. Also other lasting references like the Maragato Stew, the excellent Teleno’s meats, small baked Goatling from the area, many mycological specialities with boletus from the area… Always containing vegetable, meat, and fish options, the menu includes more than 30 choices to tempt the palate, many of them cooked and served in a "Cazuela de Barro" (clay pot). All this will go with one of our carefully selected wines.
Home-made desserts are extraordinary, and the wine list is in perfect harmony with them.
The whole secret lies in simplicity, in the unhurried culinary elaboration, and in the scrupulous selection of the products used and the warranty of their origin.
Workshops are organised throughout the year dedicated to the hunt, (wild) mushrooms and other seasonal produce, with a special commitment to the Galician region.
Breakfast is another homemade delicacy of Camino, included in the room’s price, as well as the free parking service.
