Country lodge located in the Cabrillas Altas area, belonging to the town of Vélez-Málaga, on a hill where you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the whole region of La Axarquía, in the Eastern Costa del Sol.
The house rests on a priviledged area, facing east and enjoying a view of La Maroma peak, the highest mountain in the Málaga province, and the Natural Park of Sierras Tejeda and Almijara. Looking south from the house door you can see the valley of the Vélez river, the hills and mountains of la Axarquía and the Mediterranean sea.
The house comprises a living-room with a chimney, a fully equipped kitchen, three double bedrooms and one sofa bed in the living-room, a bathroom and a food larder. The ample doorway faces south and east, and it also has an arbour that offers a wonderful shadow.
The swimming pool, with salt water, is located behind the house. It includes a spacious solarium, a barbecue and it also enjoys a breathtaking view.
From the house, you have the chance to enjoy the sights and peace of the place. Besides, you can practice trekking and biking in the surrounding woods, and all kind of nature tourism activities in the Axarquía region (quad routes, excursions, hill climbing, etc.).
La Casilla del Pastor is a part of a bigger farm mainly dedicated to subtropical crops (avocado and mango trees), named the Finca de Los Peña, that was known since the last century as Cortijo Paula Ocón. In the past it was dedicated to the growing of olive trees, almonds and lemon trees, but mostly vineyards used to produce raisins.
This house is a part of the farm since the past centuries, and it was used as a home for the migratory shepherds that, every year, came from the Sierra Tejeda with the flock to spend the winter in this part of the region. The grazing land of the farm were sold by the owners to the shepherds, who had a home in the Casilla for a few months, while the sheep could pasture and were kept in fold yards among the olive trees.
